Taking trips has long been a pastime of mine. I love nothing more than to get in the car and travel to some out of the way state park, a bustling metropolis or a quaint college town. I like to get lost in the trip and see new or familiar things. Some trips I take alone and on others I indulge the company of a friend or family member.
Traveling helps me cope. Bon voyage!

A concept I am learning about in my new course of therapy is radical acceptance. This concept is changing the way not only I look at my mental illness, but the way I look at many aspects of my life. I don't have to accept that things are good the way they are, but I do need to accept that things are simply that: the way they are. I can only make concrete efforts to change things when I realize that they currently exist and are a certain way.

I am doing much better after my recent hospital stay and reworking of my medicine regime. I have been feel poorly for several months and my time at Vanderbilt has been a great (if at the time, unwelcome) blessing. Feel free to follow me on Twitter (micah_6_8) to see the lastest with me. God bless!
